Q & A
WHAT DOES SUPPLYLITE DO THAT AN ERP CAN’T?
ERP systems historically work best during steady state supply chain operations which align with established ERP procedures. Supplylite bridges the ERP functionality gap on a project to project basis until steady state is achieved. Supplylite can also provide an immediate solution to a short term functionality requirement that the ERP cannot deliver in a timely and cost effective manner. This maybe material tracking based, tied to a client reporting/oversight requirement or operationally driven. For example the requirement to individually quarantine clear cargo or provide bespoke checklists for material QA/QC purposes.
CAN SUPPLYLITE INTERFACE WITH AN ERP?
For a major project we can build an interface with say SAP or JDE noting this requires access to and agreement from the relevant Corporate ERP team. For specific packages of work or campaigns, Purchase Order information can be exported from SAP and imported into Supplylite based on a shared material catalogue/vendor list. Additional material tracking information including the Project Work Breakdown Structure is then linked up. Supplylite can conduct some events on behalf of say SAP, like recording material receipt against a Purchase Order, and then reporting these events back to SAP via a third party log for close out on SAP.
IS SUPPLYLITE A REPLACEMENT FOR MY ERP?
If you have an ERP absolutely not! Your ERP remains the primary system that will manage all finance, procurement, variations, final material acquittal, governance and steady state warehousing with stocking level analytics and reorder triggers. For start ups, remote operations and Brownfields sites we can provide a full Supply Chain solution "out of the box" again potentially until your ERP is up and running.
WHAT ABOUT IF WE ONLY WANT TO USE A SMALL PART OF SUPPLYLITE?
As a cloud based software as a service platform Supplylite can scale up and scale down to meet a client's needs. It can support a single HOTSHOT, project inventory for a single client, a stand alone fabrication project, a single laydown area/warehouse or manage a complex supply chain for a major EPCM project. See Functionality.
WE ARE USED TO SPREADSHEETS - IS SUPPLYLITE DIFFICULT TO LEARN?
The APP is event and button based and very easy to use. The Supply Chain Management Portal user interface combines easy to learn gamification logic with a traditional spreadsheet/database experience which presents data in filtered lists, trees and pre-configured dashboards/downloadable reports.
Importantly, Supplylite provides recursive data export into Excel so users can use pivot tables and other tools to build customised reports that have not been set up in Supplylite. A primary goal of Supplylite is to move historical spreadsheet activity into a collaborative environment without users losing the flexibility they need to do their job. The Supplylite value proposition is heavily geared towards reducing a Company's exposure to the Usual Suspects which include third party spreadsheets as stand alone material tracking tools.
WHO CAN USE SUPPLYLITE?
All project stakeholders can access Supplylite including suppliers, fabricators, QA/QC staff, engineers, 3PL providers, quarantine staff, freight forwarders, material control teams and on site installation teams. Each user has an individual log on and belongs to a Company team. Each team is authorised to undertake a set of events (or View only). This is called Role Based Access Control set centrally through a stand alone Role Based Access Control portal.
CAN SUPPLYLITE MANAGE MATERIAL FROM MULTIPLE PROJECTS?
Absolutely. Material and Equipment Lists, Bills of Materials and Shop Drawing Registers can be linked at source to the individual Work Breakdown Structure for a project. This enables warehouses, laydown areas, shipments, transport assets and MHE to be shared across projects as material is configured for shipment to project user sites in accordance with Required On Site Dates.
CAN SUPPLYLITE MANAGE 4PL?
Absolutely. It may be the only independent 4PL solution on the market that can tie together multiple 3rd party logistics providers on a common system and deliver a true 4PL supply chain experience.
CAN SUPPLYLITE MANAGE FABRICATION?
Yes we can against the Shop Drawing Register at assembly level (single mark). A bespoke workflow can be set up which tracks an assembly through the workflow through to presentation for load out. Currently we do not offer an integrated 3D viewer within Supplylite but will be doing so in the near future and can fast track this requirement for a specific project.
HOW MUCH ACTIVITY CAN I UNDERTAKE ON THE SUPPLYLITE APP?
The APP is being updated all the time. It includes: fabrication/supply tracking against Purchase Orders; overs, shortage and damage reporting; packing, unpacking and consignments; geo tagging and material acquittal against the Project Work Breakdown Structure.
CAN WE TRY SUPPLYLITE?
We have multiple pre-built models which include fabrication, offshore support, wind farms and a full EPCM operation within a 4PL environment inspired by Chevron’s Gorgon project. Your team can access an evaluation platform based on one of these models and we can provide a full interactive workshop experience for you as well.
DO YOU PARTNER - CAN YOU HELP US WIN WORK?
We are always happy to discuss partnering opportunity. We can provide full material tracking and supply chain strategy content for tender submissions and showcase Supplylite to the project owner as part of your tender evaluation response team.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
As a software as a service platform, the cost aligns with the client value proposition. This is negotiated with the client based on the level of functionality required, the duration of the work, the scale of the work and the number of users. See Pricing.
